Space Digital Watch
This retro-futuristic stainless digital watch is modeled after the first digital watches that appeared in the 70s and looks SUPER SWEET! The display is OFF until you hit the top right button to light up the crazily-awesome red numbers. Unlike the ones from the 70s this new version has a better battery life--they last approximately 12 months and are easy to replace. These also use a modern CMOS, adding the reliability of modern electronics with an original 70s type LED display (Trivia: Pulsars from the 1971-1973 are collectors' items these days, and popularized when it appeared in the James Bond movie Live and Let Die). These also have a neat feature--the butterfly clasp is released by pushing in buttons on the side of the outside of the clasp. It's a super cool neat gadget in itself (check out the detailed photos). The solid and chunky square faced model with scratch resistant face is suitable for most adults, though small-ish women might find it a bit too bit for their wrists. It's a really substantial watch, too, and could get heavy for said women to wear for long periods of time. Now that the high volume manufacturing process for LED watches no longer exists they have become more difficult and expensive to produce. The manufacturer uses modern digital watch modules fitted with the original 70s-type seven segment self illuminating digits that are wire bonded to the modern module. Pretty cool!
